NESRO Delegation Participates Meaningfully in FARO 2025

Kathmandu, Nepal — The Nepalese Society of Radiotherapy & Oncology (NESRO) is proud to announce the commendable performance and achievements of its delegates at FARO 2025 — the 7th meeting of Federation of Asian Organizations for Radiation Oncology (FARO), held from 13 to 15 November 2025 at The Empress Convention Center, Chiang Mai, Thailand. FARO 2025, organized jointly with THASTRO (Thai Association of Radiation Oncology), convened around 800 delegates from FARO’s 15 member nations along with other international attendees. The official conference theme was “Unveiling the Power of Comprehensive Cancer Care”, highlighting the importance of multidisciplinary and integrated cancer care throughout the patient journey.


Key Delegation and Achievements:

The Nepalese delegation to FARO 2025 comprised Dr. Gisup Nikha Prasiko, President of NESRO,; Dr. Subhas Pandit, Treasurer of NESRO; Dr. Saugat Poudyal, Dr. Shweta Baral, and Dr. Birendra Kumar Yadav, and Dr. Lokendra Kunwar..

• NESRO President Dr. Gisup Nikha Prasiko represented Nepal in the FARO Executive Meeting, contributing to strategic discussions and promoting collaboration among Asian radiation-oncology societies.

• Dr Subhas Pandit, Treasurer participated in the Leadership Development Program.

• Dr. Birendra Kumar Yadav was honoured with the Young Investigator Award, recognizing his promising research and contributions in radiation oncology.



Significance and Future Directions:

NESRO is a new member in FARO. It views its robust participation and the recognition of its members at FARO 2025 as a milestone for cancer care and professional oncology practice in Nepal. The experience and networks gained through this international forum reinforce NESRO’s dedication to advancing multidisciplinary cancer care, scientific research, and capacity building. Looking forward, NESRO remains committed to leveraging such opportunities to strengthen oncology practices, education and research for the benefit of cancer patients across Nepal.
